Painting Tips and Techniques:

• Base Coloring: Start with a neutral, halftone local color. Shade according to volume and lighting, adding fur layers with slightly lighter colors.
• Shading: Apply basic shading with a simple brush (hard or soft) and add fur strands above, following the form and lighting.
• Depth and Highlights: Deepen shaded areas among strands near their roots and add light and highlight accents where needed.
• Blending Modes: Experiment with blending modes such as Soft Light, Screen, and Multiply.
• Detailing: Begin with main volumes, lights, and darks, then add non-detailed fur strands using appropriate brushes. Follow up with detailed fur brushes for finer details.
• Final Touches: Add the sharpest strands or hairs, blur or darken some underlying strands, and highlight the most visible ones. Adjust softness, sharpness, darkness, or lightness as needed. Use regular textured thin brushes for separated hair.
